Yachting in the Canary Islands

The Canary Islands are located off the coast of warm Africa in the Atlantic Ocean. It is an archipelago of seven large and a number of small islands. The close proximity to the famous Sahara Desert provides a favorable microclimate for sailing, even in winter. Yachting in the Canary Islands – the season starts here in November, when ships come from the cold Mediterranean, and finishes in March, when sailing enthusiasts return to Mediterranean waters.

The yacht base of the Sparks Life company is located on the island of Tenerife – this is the largest and most amazing area. On a one-week tour with us, you can visit three or four islands. For a 14-day cruise, you can easily get around all seven islands.
Three versions of cruises are offered to your attention. If you decide to rent a yacht with a skipper, you will have the opportunity to make adjustments to your trip.

Version 1 (distance traveled – 100 miles)

During the period of this exciting cruise, we will visit two islands, get acquainted with the sights on the shore, swim, sunbathe, and have fun contemplating the giant ocean inhabitants – whales. We do not cross at night.

Day 1.

In the afternoon, in the late afternoon, we take the boat to the San Miguel Marina, buy everything we need, get to know each other, check in and have dinner.

Day 2.

In the morning we will have a detailed safety briefing, then we go out on the water. After a 3-4 hour crossing, we drop anchor, swim and have a delicious lunch, then we set off for the Las Galletas bay.

Day 3.

Today we will make an exciting 5 hour trek to the nearby island of La Gomera. We do not get bored, we go hunting for tuna, blue marlin, admire dolphins and whales. Upon arrival, we will have a delicious joint dinner in an excellent restaurant located next to the port.

Day 4.

All today we will be exploring interesting places on the island. It is much more convenient to do this with a rented car (this is exactly what we will do).

Day 5.

On the fifth day of our amazing cruise, we will sail to the island of Tenerife. Our yacht will approach the cliffs of Los Gigantes – this is a real business card of this area. If weather conditions are favorable, we will drop anchor and enjoy a swim in the crystal waters of the Atlantic.

Day 6.

The sixth day of our tour is dedicated to walking trekking in the most popular Masca gorge. This route is rightfully considered the most picturesque and exciting for the area. After 4-5 hours of trekking we head straight to the beach.

Day 7.

Today we will sail parallel to the south coast of Tenerife, directly to the San Miguel Marina. On the way, do not forget to swim, fish and make plans for tomorrow’s amazing excursion to Teide volcano. This is the highest point in the Canary Islands (about 4 kilometers). Even in summer, the peak is covered with snow, you should definitely see this beauty.

Day 8.

We rent the boat and go on an excursion to the Teide volcano.

Version 2 (distance traveled – 150 miles) – yachting in the Canary Islands

During this wonderful cruise, we will visit two islands, dunes, forests with rare species of trees and a volcano. There will be no crossings at night.

Day 1.

Towards evening we take the ship, buy food, get to know each other, check in and have dinner.

Day 2.

Having passed the obligatory safety briefing in the morning, we set out to sea, get used to the water, set up the sails and in 3-4 hours we arrive at the Montaรฑa Roja cliff. There we make a stop, swim and have lunch, weather conditions permitting, spend the night, otherwise we return to the marina.

Day 3.

After 45 miles of crossing to the island of Gran Canaria, we find ourselves in the cozy countryside of Puerto de Morgan. This is a nice settlement, located almost on the very shore, with a comfortable bay and a lot of fish restaurants. While sailing, we fish, we get real pleasure from the magnificent ocean views.

Day 4.

The whole day will be devoted to traveling around the island: the magnificent dunes of Maspalomas, the capital of Gran Canaria, picturesque landscapes and a lot of impressions. We will move in a comfortable rented car.

Day 5.

Today we will go to Tenerife to Las Galletas bay. Dinner will take place in a cozy restaurant on the beach.

Day 6.

We go to Los Gigantos, on the way we swim, fish, enjoy whale and dolphin watching.

Day 7.

In the morning we will have a hike to the Maska gorge. We will go down a picturesque road to the beach, closed from prying eyes, from where it is possible to leave only by boat. At the end of the trekking, our yacht will return to San Miguel bay.

Day 8.

Today in the morning we rent the yacht and go on an exciting excursion straight to the Teide volcano. Be sure to visit this breathtaking peak and enjoy the breathtaking beauty.

Version 3 (distance traveled – 250 miles)

On this trip we will visit three islands and make one night crossing – yachting in the Canary Islands

Day 1.

After 4 pm we take the yacht, buy provisions, check in, get acquainted and have dinner.

Day 2.

Having passed the obligatory safety briefing, we go out to sea and within 5 hours we make the transition to the island of La Gomera.

Day 3.

The entire day will be devoted to exploring this stunning island. We rent a car and explore the local attractions, not bypassing the fish restaurants.

Day 4.

We will have a long journey that will last all day. We will go to the island’s capital, La Palma.

Day 5.

Today we will devote to the wonderful island of La Palma, in a comfortable rented car we will go to get acquainted with the local interesting places.

Day 6.

The route lies in the capital of the island of Tenerife, we will make the transition both during the day and partly at night. If the ship’s crew is ready for the night shift, we can go all the dark hours of the day.

Day 7.

After a day of walking around the beautiful island, we will go to the point from where our journey began – the Marina of San Miguel.

Day 8.

In the morning we release the ship and head for a breathtaking excursion to the Teide volcano. This miracle must be seen with your own eyes.

Yes, this option is possible. In this case, you are not booking a ship, but only a separate cabin. If a sufficient minimum number of people is recruited, the tour takes place on the scheduled dates.

All boats rented by charter companies are insured, however you and all team members will need to take out travel medical insurance (for active sports)

You rent the yacht entirely for your group. You decide among yourselves who will be in which cabin. As a rule, the cabins do not differ much from each other in terms of space and comfort. If you are not booking a yacht, but a separate cabin, then you can choose from the options that are available at the moment.
